They make claw caps for cats (and small dogs). www.softclaws.com sells them in a variety of colors. I have green ones on my callico and they work great! She can still scratch like she use to, but she does not destroy stuff (or people...most of the time). It takes a little time for the cat to get use to then, but after 6 months my cat does not notice them after the first 15min. Still a very hyper feline but less trouble. It is the alternative to declawing a cat who is...energetic.
