Starting the Hypothermia Protocol
I'm not calling the code, so don't even ask about harvesting bits and pieces. There might be some life left in this blog yet, but it's been having some serious rhythm disturbances recently, and now it's been flatline for a month. That last post was just an agonal beat after Nurse K activated the shock collar. I'm just going to pack it in ice for now and see what happens.
The good news is, I've been working on starting my own business. The bad news is, it takes up a lot of my free time (and money), so this blog is officially on hiatus for the time being. Thanks for visiting, and don't hold your breath, but I might see you later.

Sigh. Thanks for it all. Best of luck to you.
Scalpel, buddy...we'll miss you.
Good luck with everything!
This is f*cking bullsh*t. Good luck with your freestanding emergency department though.
You'll be back.
I hope.
GruntDoc
You'll be missed. Best wishes.
sonuvabitch......now who's gonna counter all the idiocy that's out there?
seriously, best of luck...we're gonna miss ya.
All good things must come to an end...I'll miss you!
Thank God for 10/10 and White Coat, and M.D.O.D.!
The ranks are shrinking...
Oh Scalpel... I DO hope you come back! :)
You will.
But hey... I wish you every success with your new business?
Tell us about it sometime if you can. :)
You'll be missed. Best of luck with your business.
That sucks, I just found your blog and was enjoying what I have been reading on here so far.
Well, the good die young.. especially on the internet when it's a good blog or website worth while.
Best wishes with your business, and your medical career.
Mrs. B from Michigan
Asshole...
You will greatly missed. Thank you for everything, and I hope you do return.
Best wishes in your new adventures.
Why you slimy little twerp!
Do you feel the love? : D
This totally sucks.
We will lure you back.
You will succumb to the blog bug once again.
This is not a happy day for the medical blogosphere. Dude.
Your "I'm Outta Here" title was much more creative than mine.
Jerk.
PS: Need any nurses in your new endeavor? My ER is more dysfunctional than my last marriage. I can be bought pretty cheap....
I wanna know about this "business". Is it an Urgicare place?
Good luck with whatever it is and post periodically when a patient pisses you off.
fuhk. that sux.
Darn you! We started our blogs around the same time and I always felt a kinship to you, Scalpel. This really sucks. Call me if you ever need a psych nurse in your new endeavor. I'll miss you.
MJ
Scapel-
Best of luck to you. Hope to see you back soon and besides, it's good to leave with us us wanting more...
GodDamnit.
Just when I had found someone even more cynical than me at this job.
Let us know when you come back, ok?
Why is it that most of the people who got me into blogging are now leaving?
I'll keep my eye on your cardiac monitor while you're packed in ice.
The medical blogosphere is better with you than without you.
I go on vacation for 5 days and this is what I get?
Don't forget the Happy Hour specials.
Offer something FREE and you'll get MORE patients than you can ever imagine.
Or just a stiff drink,
Well, I'll miss you and I'll check in now and then just to see if you're still around.
I hate to see you go but I certainly understand. I started a blog in 2005 and I've probably averaged 1 post ever 2 or 3 months due to work and life.
I like blogging. I just don't have a lot of time for it. I think the folks that blog daily must work from home, be unemployed or maybe not have a lot to do at work.
Good luck with your new business. If it survives in the current economy, it will survive anything.
Joe
I can't believe you are doing this to me.
Yes, I'm taking it a bit personally. ;)
Good luck with whatever you do with your time now.
The situation is now very difficult and many people do not really know what to do, but now we must get down to analyze each of us and see if we can get ahead, as everything depends on oneself, there are ups and downs but the important thing is that while there is life there is hope, a few days ago I read in findrxonline that antidepressants are the most common pills used in these cases but not many of them know the consequences ...
Hey, I just found you.... Damn!
Crap. I came here from Happy (I think) and is a goodbye post.
You are giving me a complex. (Everything IS about me).
I am going to add you to my blog roll anyway...just in case you decide to please the masses.
Well DADGUM. But good luck with everything. (I've passed the hypothermia protocol and gone on and cremated my nursing career. I'm done...I'm just....done.)
OMG !! SCALPEL !!! I have been away too, I got a job !!!!! I am still on unemployment untill I know for sure that this will work out for me, so I have been training and brainstorming without pay, but I think it will be good, I am so sorry and sad to see you go, but whatever you do I am sure it will be alright!! and hey if I ever change planes in Texas, I might look ya up for some coffee, take care Scalpel Big Hugs, Stacy (:
Ohhh, Scalpel.....Why you want to be like that? You and I don't always see eye to eye, but I always did respect you.
Srsly...
Fizz
Yup ... still a pulse.
Best of luck to you.
God damn it.
I'm going to track you down and jalapeno-wax your 'taint until you agree to come back.
I am with cranky lil prof on this one, stop being a douche jockey and get back to writing.
Once a week won't kill you.
Ooops. I missed the death scene. Apparently the crankylitprof Brazilian threat worked.
BTW cynic, when are you starting your blog? ;-)
It looks as if even findrx spam was worried about the loss. That has to rank somewhere up there with making Joey Stalin cry.
Welcome back.
