Snowtime in Texas

The last time it snowed here was Christmas Eve 2004. That should make driving to work interesting. I've got almost an inch of fluffy white goodness on my car right now.

Came through here last night, thank God the flurries didn't stick.

We got up to a record high of 85 yesterday, according to the paper, and then hit 31 overnight, with near-constant sleet. I'm amazed it didn't turn into the Icecapades again, like in '07.

Oh man, it's kind of hilarious to see the excitement of people who don't get snow very often, and even funnier to hear people complaining of an inch of snow making it tough to get to work!

Here in Ottawa, Canada we got about a foot or more of snow yesterday and expect a few more inches tomorrow, and there's a public transit strike to boot. If Anonymous 8:39 would like to come take some of the snow away, I'd be happy to give you all you want!

Be lucky that it's not ice. Here in NY, we got freezing rain, which blanketed everything and made the roads, sidewalks and parking lots like ice rinks.

This morning when I came out there was a vehicle parked directly across from me (on street parking)which had been partially crushed by a fallen tree branch laden with ice.

Oh how exciting for you Texans! :)

We need some snow and am hoping for a white Christmas.

Lights always look prettier in the snow too. :)

You don't want to see Texans trying to drive in snow. Trust me on this.

@Sabra: Perhaps. But it's still funny to hear you guys complaining about a mere dusting of snow, when my family just got snowed in overnight.

(We're all okay, before anyone worries - none of us had any plans to go anywhere, anyways, and we're well-stocked. If all else fails, we can just either a) shovel out the driveway or b) get out the toboggan and hike down to one of the nearby stores and get the necessities.)
