Thats funny in a sick kind of way. I wish I could be as excited about her as the other commentors before me-but I hope more than anything that she and McCain don't win.

The comment about polar bear hunting is not too far from the truth. She supports some of the most destructive environmental and animal conservation policies in history--threatening hard won legislation in those fields. The thought of her in the second most powerful position in America is highly disconcerting.

The republicans have been trying to drill in Alaska for years and so far they have been defeated. One of their tricks in the bag is use overinflated gas prices (which I'm sure they have managed to help propagate) and turn it into a carrot on a stick. If we drill domestic, we can lower gas prices! I wonder how many years that will take to show up as a .05 cent decrease in a gallon of gas? I don't support foreign oil at all, but the answer should be concentrated on alternatives, not more oil to line the GOP pockets.
But look who the republican picked, an Alaskan hunter married to an production operator on the North Slope (oil worker). Hmm Oh wait, I think I did hear her mutter something about solar and wind, it was third or fourth after domestic drilling, clean? coal and more nuclear power plants. She actually makes McCain look not-so-bad comparatively.
Rachel, let's just hope that if he is elected he doesn't croak before his term is up.

Sorry Scalpel, I don't usually rant politics, especially in someone else's comment section.

If Alaskans want to drill there, let them freaking drill there. Why should we care, and how dare we get involved in their business?

What I find interesting is that democrats say that Bush did nothing to help our energy situation and he tried to promote off shore drilling and they knocked it down. What have they promoted or passed to help the energy crisis in the last 8 years? maybe They did and I just didn't hear about it?

There is too much division and whereas I was not thrilled about either candidate...I am beginning to see the picture for real change with the McCain -Palin ticket. They do not go along with the their own party all the time no matter what and have been willing to cross party lines for what they believe is the good of our country. We need that.

I am hopeful again.

Trauma,

The Democrats rolled into Congress on Nancy Pelosi's promise to lower the gas prices...when they were under $3.00 a gallon. How's that been working for us? I don't think you can blame Bush or the Republicans for that one...no matter how much you hate him.
