7 Weird Facts About Me
Food Edition
1) My favorite snack is raw green bell peppers sprinkled with salt. But I hate the yellow ones. The red ones are OK.
2) I eat pickled jalapeƱo peppers right out of the jar. Trappey's are the best, because they are crisp, not mushy.
3) I love pistachios, cashews, walnuts, pecans, almonds, and especially hazelnuts. But not mixed into brownies or ice cream. Never, ever.
4) And I don't really like peanuts at all. But I like Snickers and Reese's Cups.
5) And yet peanut butter disgusts me. My little sister used to chase me around the house with it.
6) When I work nights, I live off Stouffer's frozen meals. But I don't bring them to work. I only eat before I leave for work and when I get home from work. Swedish meatballs and French bread pizza are my favorites.
7) I'm addicted to candy, but I'm trying to cut down. Bottle caps, Runts, Sweet tarts, Spree, candy cigarettes....I'm a candy freak. If you are too, then you'd better not go to this website. Don't say I didn't warn you.
And yes, I've bought the 24 count box of candy cigarette packs. Twice.

OMG, does that web site bring back memories. I had forgotten about a lot of those. There is a candy store here where I live that sells those great big giant pixie sticks. I've always loved those even though they tear your tongue and the roof of your mouth to shreds.
I like the swedish meatball meal too--don't eat it anymore due to lowcarbing, but it was one of my faves.

GLITTERGIRL...you're cracking me up here!!! LOL!
Actually, if you read to the end of the tampon taser story where I talk about harpooning my cat...that little incident happened right after I had been taking pictures of a present I had gotten. As a matter of fact when I saw it (aside for my immediate love of it) I instantly thought of you! So I decided to arrange extra ornaments around it on the Christmas tree skirt, took pictures of it with the idea of eventually getting into my blog. (I just got 2 years worth of pics on a CD and into my computer but now I have to figure out how to get them to transfer over to my blog or e-mail. I know obvious to most people) Anyway...I think when YOU see the pick you will crack up and I am going to dedicate the post and pic to you Scalpel! Talk about timing...it is really funny that I got this present now. ;)
Then I started taking pics of my husband's antique cabinet when the feline rocket shot through smashing everything sending glass in all directions, causing me to shriek from being so startled. Maybe that was payback for the times I have moved my foot quickly causing him to jump in the air.
Jalepeno peppers right out of the jar??? You ARE a tough guy! I could only do that with one and a sour cream chaser!
You are really lucky I don't work with you because I am already having funny ideas about peanut butter. Let me count the ways... ;) Your sister chasing you with it is hilarious. LOL!
That is a great website. I used to like banana flavored Turkish Taffey and the candy necklaces and wax lips, etc. What are Boston Baked Beans candy? I cringe when I think of all the baseball cards I gave away or threw our because I only wanted the gum. I wonder what THEY would be worth today?
Stouffer's Pizza -yum! Never had the meatballs.
Thanks for playing. :)
P.S. When we were kids we used to pretend we were smoking the candy cigarettes. The Marlboro man was everywhere, parents used to send us to the store to buy cigarettes and most people's houses were filled with smoke at any given time, not to mention restaurants, schools, Dr offices, etc.
We've come a l-o-o-o-n-g baby!
I hope you have a good Gastroenterologist! LOL.
Duh! Meant to say- We've come a long WAY baby! :)
I am always in awe of people who can eat jalapeno peppers.
I also have to sheepishly admit that I live in Texas, and so this is why I have to remain anonymous, for fear of deportation to a Northern State. ;)
Thanks for the link to the candy site, I'll go and drool right now...
Your love of peanut butter reminds of a food...that just looking at, makes me feel icky inside.
Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches....
Ick Ick Ick
We used to have Stouffer's restaurants here, nice family places (the closest one to us was at a mall), and there may have been a hotel around here but my memory is hazy on that. Sometimes I wonder how that turned into a frozen food business.
The escalloped chicken and noodles are good.
And another fact you never asked for: I love peanuts and chocolate, but not together.
For me the ultimate from the jar snack is pickled okra. Texas Star brand (from the TDC?).
Seems to me that you're the sort who might have chased your little sister around the house with ketchup. Oh, the childhood traumas! You were always fun to trade Halloween candy with, though.
haha...I like almost everything that you like. :) Except, I dig peanut butter though I hardly eat it...:)
Sca;pel...just wanted to tell you that my husband and I agreed that we are going to order a birthday 4lb gift of candy from the 50s and one of those nostalgia books as one of MIL's presents.
They are collectors and will appreciate the nostalgia. The candy will be put out for all their visitors to enjoy, I am sure. :)
Now I have a new bookmark, damn you Scalpel! My grandmother used to give us a quarter, or maybe a dollar (don't want to give away my age!), and we would walk to the corner grocery which had a whole counter devoted to candy.....yum.
Smith Bros cough drops, cherry flavor, they were the best! I always knew it was really candy.
LOL I'm very much the same about peanut butter. I love PB cups but peanuts? Forget it!
i love peanut butter (especially the peanut butter/chocolate combo), but after having a patient that went into cardiac arrest after asphyxiating on peanut butter (hello nightmare airway !) i have not been able to touch it unless it is a peanut butter cup.
