To Repair or Refer
When a patient says, "as long as you do your best, I will be happy" it makes the doctor happy too. And that's the way things should be.

After 15 years in an ER and opening my own urgent care center, I feel that I can offer care that is superior to that available in the ER. I can control my destiny, have everything available that I want and need, and am not rushed as I was in the ER. I routinely accomplish complicated laceration repairs, extensor tendon repairs, etc.
I've followed the link. It is a heartening post.
