Ewwww
I'll follow Shadowfax on this one. I've been saving these pics for a while, and I forgot about them. I was planning on starting a series of these, but I lost the battery charger for my camera. Grrr.

Very nice---and a double-good-whammy because you fixed his hangover, too, because you would have given him pain meds!
Bohemian - I wouldn't assume so. It all depends on how drunk (and how obnoxious).
Scalpel -- Nice job. BTW, I got a Blackberry pearl off ebay; great phone, good value, and it tok the pics on my blog. Pretty good images for a phone, I think.
Better yet, I posted them to blogger directly from my phone! How cool is that?
Gadgets rock.
Oh that looked like it hurt! Nice clean up though. Poor bastard.
That's a nasty one. Ouch! Although, I am guessing he felt it more the next day.
Apparently (according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Committee), there were 43,687 toilet-related injuries in 1996. I can only imagine the number is higher now........
Nice...
If you are going to cut your hand though that's a pretty good location. I doubt if he injured any tendons or nerves with that location. Tattoos and BAC are vital to survival.
Best line ever from a guy with a similar wound:
(via the answering service)
"He says he cut his hand with a chain saw. It's bleeding pretty badly, but it's NOT AN EMERGENCY."
Not only that, but the guy was calling from out of state. I asked him what the hell he thought an emergency was, and to get to the nearest ER RIGHT NOW.
Nice sew job. Can you please hem my new pants?
Honestly, having been with a medical team to the Peruvian Amazon for book research, the one thing I'm fairly certain I couldn't do is drive a needle through tissue. I could give a shot (and did!), and I think I could mess around in surgery, but don't ask me to sew someone up. Bleh.
intoxicated people are my favorite, my first sutures were on a VERY drunk guy, so I was not scared of him feeling anything. I must say, most of the drunks I'd get had much dirtier hands than this guy!
Have you used or heard of the Quill SRS suture product manufactured by Angiotech?
I haven't heard of it. I googled it and found a couple of news releases, but no pictures or schematics.
Wow! Nice job!
